Archived Cyto-econference

Archived Cyto-econference

Archived Cyto-econferences are a valuable educational tool for any cytopathologist, cytotechnologist, institution or lab who cannot commit to live presentation times or do not have internet access.

Archives are recordings of the live monthly webinars, allowing you to view and listen to the presentation, as if you were there.

How it Works

Below are all items necessary for this Cyto-econference Archive (no need to log-in). Contents of this link include the automated presentation, available for download or internet streaming. It also contains a handout and the link for participants to utilize an automated evaluation and post-test, which you must receive 80% correct or you can re-test, then print a continuing education certificate for either 2 CME, CMLE, or SAM credits. Completing the self-test is required, whether you are claiming CME, CMLE or SAM credits. This CE link expires after three years from the live presentation date.

The “Attendee CE Slips” and “Attendee Email List” downloads below will assist hub sites in getting the CE link to attendees of a group presentation. (If you received the Complimentary ASC Membership Renewal Archive, these downloads will not be included.)

Order Out of Chaos: The Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytopathology

Edmund S. Cibas, MD
April 27, 2010

It is critical that the cytopathologist communicate thyroid FNA interpretations in terms that are succinct, unambiguous, and clinically helpful. Historically, terminology for thyroid FNA has varied significantly from one laboratory to another. For clarity of communication, The Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytopathology recommends that each report begin with one of six general diagnostic categories.

Educational Objectives

-To explain the rationale for the Bethesda System for Reporting Thyroid Cytopathology (TBSRTC)
-To describe the process by which consensus was reached on TBSRTC
-To explain the criteria for each of the six categories of TBSRTC, with illustrative examples
-To provide references for further reading on TBSRTC
