HPV TESTING AND BEYOND:
WHEN AND HOW TO VALIDATE AND IMPLEMENT NEW ASSAYS
IN THE ERA OF MOLECULAR CYTOPATHOLOGY
This ASC Companion Meeting Program focuses on new advances in molecular cytopathology using HPV test validation and implementation as a template for future integration of molecular cytopathology assays. At the end of the Program, participants should be able to 1) appreciate the future molecular testing in a clinical cytopathology laboratory, 2) understand how the new tests are integrated in the cytopathology laboratory and patient management, and 3) employ general aspects of assay validation.
The ASC’s diverse membership shares a vision of education, research and continuous improvement in the standards and quality of patient care. From the diverse membership, the educational committees of the ASC determine a set of educational standards that guide the committees to determine the educational needs of the cytopathology community. Evaluation data from previous educational activities are important sources of information and used to identify potential learning needs.
