The Excellence in Education Award is presented to a cytotechnologist or pathologist member in recognition of meritorious service or accomplishment in the field of Cytopathology or Cytotechnology education. 

Outstanding service or contributions at the national level (e.g., committee membership); active involvement in primary education (e.g., years of teaching, number of students trained, percentage of students active in the field, number of students who are now program faculty or active in the education of others, etc); and major program accomplishments (e.g., implementation of new or innovative teaching techniques, program results on registry examinations, etc.) are examples of accomplishments worthy of recognition. 

This award consists of a certificate and $1,500.00.
