As the fundraising arm of the ASC, the Foundation provides considerable support for the Society’s programs. Its endowment enhances our commitment to the ASC’s missions so that the Society can meet the expectations of our membership and the public to advance health via the cytologic method. The November issue of The ASC Bulletin outlines how the Foundation contributions are being invested. Here are a few highlights.
Helping those who are Among the Forgotten – Your Donations Making a Difference
In this special Foundation issue of the Bulletin, you can read ”The Coalition of Hispanic Women Against Cancer” was awarded a Patient Advocacy Award specifically focused on advocacy for Latina women who do not have regular access to care, are uninsured, and are limited English proficient within the Kansas City Metropolitan area. In India, where approximately 75,000 women die every year of cervical cancer, your ASC Foundation is there helping to provide support for an infrastructure to train cytotechnologists. Cervical cancer is the leading cause of death in El Salvador. Through a Patient Advocacy Award you are helping to create a meaningful, easy to understand cervical cancer awareness, education and prevention campaign. This campaign will target the general population, many of whom have had little to no education in the rural communities of El Salvador.
We encourage you to view the ASC Foundation Web site (ascfightingcancersavinglives.org) to learn more about the activities the Foundation has supported over the years.
We look forward to your partnership in Fighting Cancer Saving Lives.
The Foundation Board joins us in heartily thanking you for your support, and in wishing you good health and joy this Holiday season.
